Iceland’s Extra-Active Northern Lights

Last week, a solar flare on the sun’s surface sent a wave of energy barreling toward Earth. Two days later, those geomagnetic particles reached Iceland to put on the show of a lifetime.

On February 15, 2014, Iceland experienced an aurora borealis of epic proportions. The particle-rich air entered the atmosphere to produce vibrant sheets of color, waving in the night sky.

The commentary says it all. “Out of this world, OUT OF THIS WORLD!”
